No news about Friday's Choir Retreat as of Sunday night. 
At this point, it looks like we may meet in the choir room and other areas within the building
from 4:00p.m. until 10:00p.m. - Friday evening. 
There will be plenty to do and fun to be had by all!

Students:  Be sure to keep an eye on the "announcements" page and the "assignments" page.  They should be changing weekly.

The Choir Parent Association (CPA) met, elected officers, and planned some events for this year.  That is a great start!  New officers are:  Ms. McCandless - President, Mrs. Hartman - Vice-President; Mrs. Viviano - Treasurer; and Mrs. Williams - Secretary.  They are a great team, but even a great team cannot do this alone.  Please help anytime and anyway you can!

Any 2010 - 2011 Choir Members who do not have a madrigal costume may want to check out our photos for inspiration.  All choir members must have a costume for the dinner.  Some costumes are available in the choir room.  However, once we run out of costumes, students are on their own to get one.  ALL COSTUMES MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY MS. NEAL BEFORE PURCHASE, THOUGH, to ensure appropriateness and no duplications. 
2010-2011 Courses taught by Ms. Neal

Choir is a 2 semester class taught in the choir room (519).  All students are welcome into the choir.  Basic music reading, part singing, and vocal skills are taught.  Choir presents 2 to 4 concerts per year in addition to a madrigal dinner.  The choir also participates in IHSA Organizational Competition and perhaps other area festivals/competitions.  Individuals have the opportunity for advancement through IMEA All-State Auditions and IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest.

Piano Class is a 2 semester class taught in the music computer lab. Students work at their own pace with individual tutelage in a group setting after a quarter of group instruction to acquire basic skills. Students will have the opportunity to perform in a class recital during each semester.
