CHS Madrigal Performers (click on the photo to see more photos)
Tickets for the Madrigal Dinner are SOLD OUT! Woohoo!
Costumes were required IN THE CHOIR ROOM February 1st during class. Photos were taken for publicity. All students are required to have a costume that meets Ms. Neal's approval. Fabric has been supplied and a list of available seamstresses has been accumulated by Mrs. Barthold. There is zero expense to students. There is no excuse to not be ready. At this point, it may be hard to find a seamstress due to lack of time. So, call now or it will too late for sure.
The staging crew and any girls who are feeling particular strong are needed at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday evening to begin the set up process. The backdrop, tables, and chairs need to be carried from two other buildings on the property to the performance area and set up. All hands on deck! You are needed!
Rehearsal on Thursday, February 18th is a required rehearsal for everyone! Students are to go to the performance venue immediately after school. All students are to help set up. Actual duties will be assigned. Dinner will be provided. Students are to bring their own beverages. After dinner, we will run through the entire show once or twice.
Absolutely no one - under any circumstances - will be allowed to leave Thursday night until set up is complete for Friday, Friday night until set up is complete for Saturday, and Saturday night until everything has been taken down AND put away! Parents are encouraged to help. NO STUDENTS MAY LEAVE UNTIL ALL THE WORK IS DONE EACH NIGHT!
Choir is a 2 semester class taught in the choir room (519). All students are welcome into the choir. Basic music reading, part singing, and vocal skills are taught. Choir presents 2 to 4 concerts per year in addition to a possible madrigal dinner. The choir also participates in IHSA Organizational Competition and perhaps other area festivals/competitions. Individuals have the opportunity for advancement through IMEA All-State Auditions and IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest.
